7 quick and easy ways to stage a bathroom

When you think of home staging you may think it’s only relevant to general living spaces such as living rooms, kitchens and bedrooms. However, making sure the bathrooms are up to scratch is definitely an important part of staging a property, whether it’s a holiday rental or a lived in home.

Take a look below at some of our top tips and tricks for staging a bathroom.

  1. Small details matter

Unlike other rooms in the home, a bathroom layout or design can’t be reconfigured when it comes to the staging process. Therefore, it’s the small details that really count.

For example, if there are any blank surfaces such as the top of a vanity or a bathroom mirror shelf, be sure to fill these spaces with stylish accessories. A trio of miniature faux plants like the ones pictured above is a wonderful addition.

2. Splash of colour

There may already be colour present in a bathroom, whether it be through the colour of paint on the walls of tiles. Make a feature out of this by choosing bathroom accessories and towels to add an extra pop of colour.

The bathroom pictured above features oversized khaki wall tiles so Nesh decided to pull out the green tones with forest green towels, faux plants and green packaged bathroomproducts.

3. Utilise cupboard space

Staging a lived in property ready to be put on the market can come with its challenges. If the property hasn’t been newly renovated, the bathrooms can sometimes look a little tired. However, the point of home staging is that it can transform an uninspiring space into an aspirational one with just a few tweaks.

This bathroom had a built in vanity unit made out of dark wood, which made the room feel a little dull. Nesh brightened up this space by utilising the cupboard and shelf space by styling it with light and bright products, which appropriately distract the eye.

4. Fresh white towels

Don’t underestimate the power of fresh white towels to transform a bathroom space. Without the regular accessories that we’d see in a bathroom including towels, flannels and soap dispensers then it’s hard to envision yourself living in the space.

Soft white towels are also associated with high end hotel rooms. Small luxurious touches like this creates a more aspirational bathroom and is a key component to a staging project.

5. Greenery

The addition of plants and flowers can immediately transform the look of a room or space. They are a wonderful addition to a bathroom as they can immediately add colour, texture and visual interest.

Popular air-purifying plants for a bathroom include varieties of spider plant and aloe vera. Not only do they look great but they have health benefits, too.

6. Bathroom trinkets

This gorgeous bathroom was actually an en-suite in a period property that Nesh staged this summer. It has an attractive and timeless design that didn’t require much staging at all. However, elegant bathroom trinkets and accessories bring the space to life.

A jar full of cotton wool balls, a matching tumbler and soap dispenser and a luxury candle adds personality to this statement blue vanity unit.

7. Let the bathroom design shine

It’s important to know when to hold back with interior staging. If a bathroom has been beautifully renovated to a high standard and there’s already lots of colour and visual interest available, then it may be best to keep styling to a minimum.

The bathroom pictured above is a perfect example. Nesh simply added an artificial houseplant, a few bathroom accessories and left it at that.
